Spring
around the corner
![](images-baiviet/pringaroundthecorner1.jpg)
Every time Spring is around the corner
I feel vaguely sad.
All of my messy bygones
Revive sorrowfully.
* * * *
I miss my native country,
A small village full of farmers,
Where all of my ancestors
Rest in peace for ever.
* * * *
I have an old mother
Whose hair is snow-white.
Contemplating the Sun setting,
She looks forward to her children
At the end of the horizon.
* * * *
Now my brother is getting old.
His life remains mobile.
His skin is sunburnt
Under the torrid estival sunlight
* * * *
All of my teachers die silently,
Leaving their sweet thoughts.
Time buries their bygones
Without decomposing their souls.
* * * *
My friends separate from one another.
Some die; some wander.
Others pick up autumnal leaves
Without knowing Spring comes.
* * * *
The park is covered with yellow leaves.
Winter comes after Fall,
Engraves some more memories
On the silent stone benches.
* * * *
Dear Spring! Please enter the gate!
Bring us dreamful age,
Love, happy life
Warm sunlight and God’s blessings.

XUÂN
NGOÀI NGƠ
Mỗi lần Xuân ngoài ngơ
Ḷng tôi man mác buồn.
Bao dĩ văng ngổn ngang
Như âu sầu sống dậy.
* * * *
Tôi nhớ về quê cũ,
Làng nhỏ nhiều nông dân,
Nơi ông bà tổ phụ,
An nghỉ giấc thiên thu.
* * * *
Tôi c̣n một mẹ già
Tóc trắng tựa tuyết pha.
Ngắm nh́n mặt trời lặn,
Cố t́m kiếm đàn con
Sống tận chân trời xa.
* * * *
Anh tôi nay đă già
Cuộc sống vẫn bôn ba.
Phong trần rám màu da
Qua những ngày nắng hạ.
* * * *
Thầy tôi đi lặng lẽ
Lưu lại tư tưởng hiền.
Thời gian chôn dĩ văng
Hồn thầy vẫn không tan.
* * * *
Bạn bè tôi ly tán
Kẻ mất, người lang thang;
Người nhặt lá thu vàng
Nào biết Xuân đă sang.
* * * *
Công viên phủ lá vàng
Đông đến, Thu đă tàn,
Khắc ghi thêm kỷ niệm
Trên ghế đá âm thầm.
* * * *
Xuân ơi! Xin vào ngơ!
Mang theo tuổi mộng vàng
T́nh thương, đời phúc hạnh
Nắng ấm và HỒNG ÂN.
